Custom Molding Reproduction

San Francisco Victoriana's millwork plant is capable of manufacturing any custom molding you may require for your project. We can duplicate from a sample or drawing and run your custom order from 1/4" through 12" in width and from 6 feet through 30,000 plus feet. We will scan your drawings or samples into our computer design system to generate an exact template on our 3 axial computer controlled template maker. We can generate drawings for your approval and can store your designs for future use. Please contact us with your specifications for a quote.

The Custom Molding Reproduction Process

Step 1:
We work with your scale drawing or sample.
We require a sample at least 1" in size, stripped or painted.

Step 2:

We scan your sample or detail drawing into our computer CAD system. The design information is sent to a computer controlled 3 axis router which cuts an exact template for the profile-tooling grinder.

Step 3:
Blank tooling is cut, balanced and mounted in circular molder heads.
Complex wood moldings may require up to 6 cutterheads to duplicate.

Step 4:
The cutterheads are mounted in the profile-tooling grinder and manipulated against the profile template. This produces a perfectly balanced 2-knife cutterhead that exactly matches your sample or drawing.

Completed tooling, ground and sharpened, ready for the molder.

Step 5:
The necessary cutterheads are mounted in our molding machines. Your materials are selected, planed for uniformity and ripped to width. The molder heads are mounted and the machine is adjusted. A test run is completed to verify proper dimensions.

Step 6:
Finally the materials selected for your profile are run to complete your order.
